Competition Announcement – 5 Innovative Ideas for Robocity

We, the Leaders of Robocity,
– seen the necessity to incentive the youngest to contribute actively to the community development;

announce
a selection of the smartest proposal to improve technology and lifestyle in Robocity.

1) The selection is open to all Robocitans under 15 who feel have something to add to their community;

2) Every Robocitan can propose ONE idea only, but discussion of other ideas is allowed during interviews;

3) Every idea, no matter the quality and pertinence, will not be subject to discrimination: everybody has a right to a chance;

4) Credit will be given, ideas belong to the minds they were given birth: no stealing allowed in Robocity :);

5) The 5 most innovative and creative ideas – even though not immediately applicable – will receive 5 (five) ipad 2 or other tablet PC of choice.

We Leaders wish all young Robocitans to respond, no shyness.

The future is in the youngest’s hands.

Higher Education Courses offered by Fulmine Petti

This is a service communication from all three Leaders:

free CPE credits are made available to any Robocitan who wishes to complete a Higher Education course provided for a small fee by Fulmine Petti (fulmine.petti@gmail.com OR http://motorola-7.info), starting on January 2012.

The courses are as follows:

  • Business Practices and Procedures
  • Education and Disability
  • Comparative Media Studies – An Introduction
  • Rethinking the Family, Sex and Gender

We encourage you to look up fastforwardacademy.com for sample CPE crediting.

It is recommended that students present any previous certifications and diploma to Fulmine P. for a preliminary examination, as every student will be working on a different project within the courses. You can pick one or more or all of the courses, and follow them at your own pace. Most of the work will be done online or via flash drive, so you will be meeting Fulmine only twice per week. Computer and English knowledge are a must to be able to follow the courses.

More info will be made available soon at http://edu.robocity.in. In the meantime, please contact Fulmine directly.

Thank you.

Double Job Loss

Guest written by our friend Mason Abbott

When I lost my job last year finances got really tight. At first we were fine because we were living off our savings but as those began to dwindle my husband’s hours got cut at work, too, and things just got worse and worse. The low point was definitely when our 15 year old son had to take an after school job just to help us make ends meet. We finally decided to move down to Texas closer to my mom so she could help take some of the burden off and watch the kids so I could find a full time job. It’s actually really great down here and we’ve been working hard on stuff like researching Reliant Texas Electricity Provider for a good rate and selling the second car to try and cut costs where we can. We’ve finally got our heads above water but boy was it a harrowing time for a few months there. I never thought we’d be that financially unstable.
